Happy Summer, Everyone!

The Spring session has come to an end with much excellent work and good cheer!

I am thrilled to announce that the inaugural Miriam Laurence Studio Ensemble Works production is scheduled for the end of July!

This new initiative is for actors who have trained with me consistently and worked on scenes in class. They are guided through the collaborative process of producing, rehearsing, and performing independent theatre projects.

As many young actors train mostly for film and generally have so little theatre experience, this model offers an essential much-needed training experience.

I have been working intensely with the ensemble on Orphans by Lyle Kessler.  The ensemble was formed by me, Daytoni Raye, Philip Savas, and Kai Davayan. It was developed after a long period when they all worked on scenes from Orphans in class.

I am fervently hoping that I will be able to initiate and direct one every year.
