If you’ve meant to but haven’t had a chance yet and believe that the work I do is worth having other actors know about, it would mean a lot to me if you could:

1.   Click here to review me on Google
2.   Click here to review me on FaceBook
3.     Click here if you want to know how to do a Google review without Gmail

Thanks so much, and remember that auditing class is free for those who have trained with me.

Old Films You Need to Watch

It’s important for actors to be film-literate.  Brush up on your film history by watching Oscar-winning films from the past!  I’m going to recommend one per newsletter starting with:

Black and white portrait of two actors, with the man in a suit looking thoughtfully to the side and the woman, with curly hair, gazing with a serious expression.

Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman in the 1944 thriller ‘Gaslight’

The other day I realized that everyone uses the term ‘gaslighting’, but many people under 50 probably don’t know that it comes from a 1944 film that was nominated for multiple awards and won Ingrid Bergman her first Oscar. You can rent it on Prime or Apple.

Recommendations

Couples Therapy

This is the only reality show that I’ve ever watched through.  It’s so interesting to watch real people accessing their memories and emotions while fighting for their complex relationships in these extreme high-stake conflicts.

MurderBot

Often very amusing and occasionally touching, with a lot of Canadian actors!

Deep Cover

This is a really fun ride; all about improv and acting; with Orlando Bloom in a role you’d never think of him for.

Poker Face

I’ve enjoyed this Natasha Lyons take off on the 70’s Colombo television series – with lots of guest stars including:  Adrien Brody, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Chloë Sevigny, Lil Rel Howery, Cynthia Erivo, Awkwafina, Katie Holmes, John Mulaney

The Bear, Season 3

The great work continues; but again some episodes better than the others.

Dept. Q

I’ve always liked Matthew Goode and Kelly Macdonald as actors – but I loved their work here in this exceptionally written detective series. With a stand-out performance from Alexej Manvelov whose work I’ve never seen!
